Minicams was established by Nick McLachlan in 2008 to provide specialist cameras and systems for both wet and dry hire to the broadcast industry.

Nick McLachlan has a diverse and exciting background in television, having operated and installed specialist camera systems around the world on some of the highest profile sporting events.

Having worked for 2 years in the USA as an aerial cameraman and been involved with numerous Winter and Summer Olympics, he brings with him a wealth of experience and enthusiasm for getting that ‘hard to achieve’ shot, which requires that extra effort to achieve.

Enjoying the challenges and variety that specialist camera systems demand, Nick is passionate about getting the shot and won an RTS award for his camera work on The Family series 1.

“I bring with me my determination to provide the best service as possible, which resulted in me having a hugely successful career as a freelance specialist camera technician and operator.  Determined in the belief that I could do things better, led me to start Minicams and I haven’t looked back since!”

Having recently moved to larger premises in Staines, we have seen rapid growth for our services, expertise and equipment.
